1500 competitors expected at Anghiari

In a moment when equestrianism, like all other elite sports, is feeling the tail whips of the economic downturn, the endurance events is managing to keep up the numbers.The popularity of endurance was demonstrated with over 130 starters at the Ruk last Sunday and is further confirmed by the 150 entrants for Anghiari on Saturday, where the third stage of UNIRE and the regional championship is to be held. The Anghiari organising committee, in spite of the rainstorms and the ensuing floods, have confirmed that the area around Castel de Sorci has not been affected, leaving underfoot intact.
