We have reached that stage of the week when we look ahead to all of the main events taking place this weekend and provide you with all the necessary information and links you need to follow them. This weekend is set to be one full of several interesting events all around the world.
Let’s start with the final of the Global Champions Tour which begins today in Doha, Qatar. The horses arrived a few days ago which means there is now little to do but wait eagerly for the start of the competitions. Naturally the HSJ website will dedicate plenty of Equestrian World pieces day by day to the event, but here is the official website in the meantime: www.globalchampionstour.com
From Qatar, let’s turn our attentions to Canada and to be more precise Toronto, where the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair has been taking place as of last week. This week on the other hand, Toronto will be playing host to a stage of the World Cup.
Ian Millar stood out at the event during the first part of the week by winning the big race but the second part has seen McLain Ward come on strong. We shall now see who comes out on top and once again HSJ will be publishing a Equestrian World piece from the trials and events in Canada.

Moving south, Brazil is starting to prepare for the 2016 Olympic Games with the Rio de Janeiro CSI2* at the Sociedade Hìpica. Just like in the USA and Canada, Brazil will also be hosting a stage of the World Cup.
The South American Division for the World Cup is stopping off in Argentina this Sunday at the CSI2*-W Buenos Aires at the Haras El Capricho centre: www.haraselcapricho.com       www.shb.com.br
Let’s focus now on events in Europe starting with a prestigious CSI3* event in Holland. From the 14th to the 16th of November, Maastricht welcomes riders for the Maastricht Jumping Indoor. A great atmosphere is expected with the Dutch world champion team all present.
Amongst other big names present, fans will find legendary John Whitaker, Katharina Offel, Philipp Weishaupt and former World Champion Philippe Le Jeune. For a full list of the riders present, please see the attachment below. Website: www.jumpingindoormaastricht.nl
Not too far away and in Belgium the CSI2* Lier Azelhof Horse Events is scheduled: www.azelhof-horse-events.be.   In Germany, a CSI2* competition is scheduled in Oldenburg which also has trials reserved to young horses in the CSIYH1*: www.escon-marketing.de
