Equestrian World coming from the breeding and auctions sector: the Elite Fohlenauktion der Suddeutschen Pferdezuchtverbande in Nordlingen was held last weekend, when the first foals selected for the category of German sport horses were put up for sale. It is a major event in this sector as it is one of Europe’s oldest and most well-known,  to such an extent that it is considered the equivalent from the point of view of breeding to Aachen in show jumping. 64 foals were auctioned, among them sons of first-class show jumping and dressage stallions, like Cornet Obolensky, Balou du Roeut, Chaman, Diamant de Semilly, Mr.Blue, Zinedine, Negro and London. Some from these have been further selected (the best of the group), whicj made up the ranks of the so-called “Diamonds of the South“ (Sud-Diamanten), or more precisely, the most valuable pieces of the collection. In this collection appeared the person who since recorded the sales records of the auction: Lord Calvaro, son of champion of Gerco Schroder, London. The average price per foal was around 10 000 Euro, but the Lord Calvaro offer was a record: 26 700 € offered for this “Diamond of the South“ son of two-time Olympic runner-up London, bred by Wolf Dieter Wagner and was purchased by an investment company from Baden Wurttenberg. Another important price was reached for Quoins, a foal selected for dressage. 18 000 Euro was paod for this son of Quateron.
