Ahlmann to miss out on the Paris World Cup Final

The list of competitors for the jumping World Cup final was just published, and the first forfait have already been announced.
One of the most illustrious representatives of the European division will not be taking part in the races in Paris; Christian Ahlmann. The German announced he would forfeit the final because he did not have a truly competitive horse at his disposal.
Ahlmann’s main horses are Epleaser va’T Heike, who is injured, Taloubet Z, who has been retired, and the young and vivacious Caribis Z, who is too inexperienced to take part in such an event. Leaving only Codex One available for competitions.
The 43-year-old does have a number of excellent young horses at his disposal, but unfortunately they are not ready for a World Cup final yet, leading Ahlmann to the decision to withdraw and leaving a spot open for Frenchman Julien Epaillard who only just missed out on a spot in the top 18 and qualification for the World Cup.
As a result of the forfeit Germany will only be represented by two riders in Paris: Marcus Ehning and Daniel Deusser. Meaning that, although the nation lacking in quantity, Germany makes up for it in quality.
