Allianz Park in Aachen: A New Benchmark for International Equestrian Sport
After the Allianz Arena in Munich—an icon of global football—Germany will soon host a second sports venue carrying the Allianz name. The newly announced Allianz Park in Aachen marks a significant step forward in the partnership between Allianz and CHIO Aachen, positioning itself as a symbol of innovation, social responsibility and sustainable development within international equestrian sport.
CHIO Aachen: Where Tradition Meets Innovation
CHIO Aachen is far more than a prestigious equestrian event. It is a stage where the history of the sport is written year after year, setting global benchmarks for excellence.
“CHIO Aachen is a true flagship for equestrian sport worldwide and one of Europe’s leading sporting events,” said Stefanie Peters, President of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV). “We stand for the connection between tradition and modernity – and for the vision of continually rethinking and evolving our sport.”
Driving this evolution is the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS, a year-round center of excellence dedicated to education, innovation, youth development, social responsibility and inclusion. It serves as a hub for knowledge, training and new perspectives, making equestrian sport accessible to all generations.
Allianz Park: A Symbol of Shared Values and Vision
The newly created Allianz Park aims to amplify the values promoted by the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS and extend them far beyond the city’s boundaries. More than a venue, it is a vision: a place where equal opportunities, sustainability, inclusion, digitalisation and youth development are actively practiced and cultivated.
Starting in November 2025, all CHIO Aachen CAMPUS events, along with dressage, vaulting, driving and—soon—para-equestrian competitions at CHIO Aachen, will be held in the Allianz Park. The park will encompass all sports facilities for these disciplines, becoming a central gathering point for equestrian sport in Aachen and beyond.
“Our next stage of development is not just about infrastructure, but about mindset and perspective,” Peters added. “We want to be role models—for sport, for society, and for the next generation.”
A Joint Commitment to the Future of Equestrian Sport
Allianz, one of the world’s largest sports sponsors, brings global expertise and a strong sense of social commitment to the partnership, reinforcing Aachen’s significance on the international equestrian stage.
Dr. Klaus-Peter Röhler, Member of the Board of Management at Allianz SE, highlighted:
“The Allianz Park is a forward-looking symbol for equestrian sport and society. Our partnership with CHIO Aachen and the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS reflects our commitment to equality, youth development and inclusion. Allianz does not simply lend its name—we support sports and the values connected to it: team spirit, respect, community. We focus particularly on children and young people, and strongly support para-equestrian sport by breaking down barriers and strengthening belonging.”
Michael Mronz, Managing Director of Aachener Reitturnier GmbH, added:
“Allianz’s commitment sends a powerful signal for a sustainable future. With a global partner at our side, we can actively shape the future of equestrian sport in Aachen and further expand its international reach.”
Looking Ahead with Courage and Vision
Together, Allianz and CHIO Aachen are championing a future built not only on sporting excellence, but on social progress and sustainable development.
“In Aachen, standing still means falling behind,” Peters emphasised. “Continuous development is what drives us— for the horses, the sport and the people—for a sustainable and diverse future.”
Röhler concluded with a reminder of the project’s essence: “It’s not about a construction project, but about shared values and shared visions.”
