American Reining: Italian youngsters simply unbeatable at the European Championships

Let’s focus our attention now towards Givrins and the CS Ranch where the European Championships in the Reining Junior and Young Riders categories were taking place and it was good Equestrian World for Italy’s youngsters who completely dominated.
JUNIOR – 4 nations took part in this team category with Italy taking home its fourth consecutive title. Enrico Ranieri Volpe collected the most points with 213,5 on Exxcalibur, followed by 213,0 for Francesco Pedretti on Elvis Peppy Gold and 212,0 for Enrico Sciulli with Partree 2008 to give a total points score of 639,0.
Germany came in second with a total points score of 629,0. Holland and the Czech Republic were also competing and took to the field with just 3 representatives. It was the Dutch though that won the bronze medal to complete the list of podium finishers.
The Italian triumph is also credit to coach Filippo Masi who described the performance from his team as fantastic. Italy can also boast success in the individual Junior Category thanks to Enrico Sciulli with Partree 2008 after he won the gold medal in front of his team-mate Eric Ranieri Volpe in second and Germany’s Gina Maria with Big Time Rooster in third.
YOUNG RIDERS – Once again Italy triumphed after an intense head to head battle with a tough German team. However, it was a fabulous performance from the Italians who took gold with a special mention to Giovanni Masi who collected 217.5 points on Vargas and Reminds de Remedy. It’s worth remembering that in the 2013 edition he won two gold medals.
Ricardo Calascibetta with Genuine Secolo and Sara Ambrosini on Arc Think a Gunfire made up the rest of the Italian team that beat Germany 639,5 points to 629,5. The Germans took to the field as follows: Jennifer Luhmer with Peppys Lil Dreamer, Franziska Zschau on She’s Lil Dunit and Elena Kompatscher on Dry Steps. Austria took the bronze medal with 584,5 points while Holland failed to collect another podium finish.
A super Giovanni Masi then took gold in the individual category with 218,5 points for a convincing win with Vargas and Reminds de Remedy. Italy also celebrated a silver medal with Alessia Simoncini and Top O Spanish while Austria’s Marina Bottoli took the bronze medal on Whizable.
