Americans dominate Longines Fei World Cup 2017 awards

This 2018 final promises to be another catwalk for American athletes, the event opened on Wednesday 11 April with an award ceremony dedicated to the athletes who stood out in Longines competitions in 2017.
The American already have the world’s No. 1 Kent Farrington who was awarded the Longines Fei World’s Best Jumping Rider. The 37-year-old who was Olympic silver-medal winner in Rio 2016 has led the world rankings for seven and this despite an accident February (fracture of the right leg) from which he is recovering.
American horses are also leading, to be awarded as Longines Fei World’s Best Jumping Horse was in fact McLain Ward’s jumper, the extraordinary HH Azur, with which the reigning champion of the Longines Fei World Cup won the title last year in Omaha.
The US flag also stands out in the standings after the first run in this final, in which whom is considered the best rider in the world and already winner of this competition in Gothemburg in 2013, Beezie Madden, has gained the advantage riding the stallion Breitling LS.
After that the Lyon champion 2014, the German Daniel Deusser on Cornet d’Amour in second place and another American rider, from New Jersey Devin Ryan riding Eddie Blue.

Today two competitions of the World Cup circuit are scheduled: at 15.30 the first dressage final and in the evening at 8.30 pm the second final of the show jumping.
