Azzurri quintet shine in Lusanne

The Longines Horse Show in GP Lusanne takes place today with the prize-money set at 270.000,00 euro and five Italian riders are taking part: Luca Maria Moneta on Connery, Emanuele Gaudiano with Chalou, Piergiorgio Bucci riding Driandria, Alberto Zorzi on Ego van Orti and Lorenzo de Luca in the saddle of Halifax van het Kluizeboos.The participation of the Azzurri quintet is the perfect fillip for the Longines Global Champions Tour in Rome next week: Emanuele Gaudiano opened the event with a win on the first day on Carlotta over the 1.40m, Lorenzo De Luca was fourth on Halifax on Friday (1.50m two rounds) which was won by French rider Bost on Sidney Une Prince. De Luca missed out on the podium by a second, with Bucci in ninth on Driandria and no penalties.Luca Moneta and Connery won the 1.45m yesterday by a good four seconds ahead of Paul Estermann and Curtis Sitte, Bucci was 12th in the 1.50m International Jumping Riders Club on Diesel GP du Bois Madame. www.longinestiming.com
