
Belgium supremacy in LGCT Shanghai

Belgium ruled in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Shanghai.
Gregory Wathelet was the star of the day, as he made a dominant performance aboard of his grey mare Coree in the third leg of the Tour, clinching the jump-off with a clear round in 37.91 seconds.
The success earned him a place at the Longines Global Champions Super Grand Prix at the new GC Prague Play Offs in December.
Britain’s Ben Maher on Explosion W came closest, while Germany’s Daniel Deusser, riding Tobago Z, took third place on the podium with the exotic backdrop of the China Art Palace in the the Shanghai Expo Garden.
Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca with Halifax van het Kluizebos ended in the top ten, with a clear first round and 4 penalties in the second. Alberto Zorzi aboard of Fair Light van’T Heike was 22nd with 8 penalties in the first round.

Thanks to his 5th place atop of Hello Shelby, Scotland’s Scott Brash keeps the leadership in the overall rankings with 99 points, followed by Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander and Daniel Deusser, both with 72 points.
