Bordeaux crowned Boyd Exell as the 2018 winner of the FEI World Cup Driving Championship. The Australian clinched his 7th World Cup final, dominating over his class-rival in the eight and last leg of the competition.
Switzerland’s Jerome Voutaz won the first leg in Leipzig and went close to success in Bordeaux, but it was once again the 45-year-old Exell who came out best in the exciting battle also with Dutch Koos de Ronde.
The difference between Voutaz and Exell was only 0.63 seconds, but the performance of the Swiss has to be praised since he is an amateur rider and works as an auto mechanic. However, he is preparing for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon.
