British riders dominate Mediterranean Equestrian Tour

The Mediterranean Equestrian Tour spring festival continues in Spain and the Oliva Nova tour has reached its fourth week where for the moment the British have been dominating the categories reserved for young horses.
In the 5-year-old category the best pair of 25 in the field was Maisie Drea with Dear Z (Clintissimo Z x Renkum Valentino), clearing all 11 1.20m fences in the first round. Seven pairs went in the second round with Great Britain duo ahead of Ukrainian Oleg Krasyuk with Propolis (Pan AM VDL) and third place Jamie Wingrove (GBR) in the saddle of Iniesta KS (I’m Special De Muze).
It was the same story in the six-year-old category composed of the British rider Adrian Whiteway and Cooley Network (Boswell Mr Heart Breaker x Coronado) who completed the 1.30m course in 31.29 seconds.
Not far behind was the Irish rider Barry Drea on Okehurst Mr Mexico (Billy Mexico) with a time of 31.45 seconds followed by Jennifer Pedersen (DEN) with Helga.
On the podium of the 7-year-old category, once again the Union Jack was highest with the British rider Jane Annett winning with My Lady O.L. (Armitage 2 x Landlord) by just 0.09 seconds over the 1.40m, second podium for Ukrainian Oleg Krasyuk who finished second on Apollon (Pan AM VDL).
In third place in this category was the home rider, Ruben Gomez Crespo with Draco de Pravia (Draco x Quidam de Revel).
