
Budapest CSIO: Italian Team finish ninth in Nations Cup in Hungary

The Czech Republic have finished first in the latest stage of the Furusiyya Fei Nations Cup European Division 2 in Budapest. Zuzanna Zelinkova with Caleri II, Ondrej Zvara on Carmen Arcus, Emma Augier de Moussac on Danthe RDPF and Ales Opartny with VDL Fakir were the riders that managed to beat the rest of the other nations competing. The team led by coach Martin Ohneiser finished the trial with a total of 20 penalties.
Norway led by Morten Djupvik ended up as runners up with the team made up as follows: Ole Kristoffer Meland on CC Top, Margrethe Hartmann with Laeticia 9, Therese Henriksen on Calimero van’t Roth and Dag Ove Kingsrod on Dimaro vd Looise Heide. The Norwegians completed their runs with a total of 24 penalties.
The final podium slot went to the Belgian team coached by Rik Deraedt. This was their line-up for the Nations Cup trial in Hungary: Michael van den Bosch on Zirano, Quinten Bradt with Fames van T Poezelhof, Hendrik Denutte riding Green Slepps Orage and Pieter Clemens on Anthony (25 penalties). The rest of the teams finished as indicated below:
4th Slovakia 28 penalties
5th Denmark 32 penalties
6th Germany 36 penalties
7th Argentina 37 penalties
8th Austria 38 penalties
9th Turkey 20 penalties in the first round
9th ITALY 20 penalties in the first round
11th Hong Kong 24 penalties in the first round
12th Hungary 25 penalties
13th Slovenia 43 penalties

The outcome means that Italy’s below par performances continue. They will also have been disappointed not to have taken advantage of taking to the field in last place in which they knew the points that had been scored by the other nations.
