Calenzano Cavalli 2009

Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th the 15th edition of the Calenzano Cavalli, that takes place in the first weekend of September, an event that is valid for qualification to the finals of the Performance Western Fise Toscano Championship. An event which has certainly grown over the years and recently has attracted as many as 10,000 visitors. The reason for the growing success of the event is down to the program which is a mix of events catered for the experts of the sport, the individual races are also a route to qualification for the national championships, but also for families and children. The will also be the opportunity for young children to try riding horses in the ‘Prova anche tu’ section alongside expert instructors, from 10.00 – 12.00 and also from 15.30 onwards. The evening of Saturday 5th at sees the most spectacular part of the event takes place. Starting at 21.30 the night show sees the riders dressed in period costumes, with carts and horses of Arab and Andalucian pure blood, entertaining the crowd with a fire display, dancers and singers. There will also be the Butteri di Valentano to add the icing on the cake. This equestrian event takes place in the Sports centre of Carraia and is free of charge. For information:
