There is plenty of anticipation for Aachen, one of the most important equestrian events of the season and tomorrow the curtains officially come up at the most famous World Equestrian Festival there is.
The Show Jumping events will get underway, following the 5* Dressage and Vaulting last week, in the morning between 11.45-13.35 with a difficult challenge; the timed Stawag Opening Jumping Competition at 1.50m. Then in the afternoon it is the turn of the Sparkassen Youngster Cup for young horses of 7-8 which belongs to the Young Tour tournament. The final will take place on Saturday and the reigning champion is the German Patrick Stuhlmeyer who last year won on the back of Chasmo.
Following the afternoon trial runs the official opening ceremony of the CHIO Aachen 2014 will take place which as always is a must for all those passionate about equestrian sport at the highest level. The Open Day once again attracted huge numbers, with over 30000 visitors at the CHIO Village while more than 43000 took to the stands to watch the Voltage event ‘Soers Sunday’.
