CHIO Aachen: starting order of the Mercedes Benz Nations Cup

Following the victories of Doda de Miranda and Kent Farrington in the events at Aachen another name joined was added to the firt winners in the evening. The Irishman Kenny Darragh managed first place in the Prize of Staedte Region Aachen on the back of Selle Française Picolo (Diamant de Semilly).
Second was Doda de Miranda, another excellent result, this time riding AD Nouvelle Europe Z (Nelson Z) and third was Eric Lamaze with Fine Lady 5.

Events get back underway this afternoon with the second phase of the Sparkassen Youngster Cup at 2pm, followed by the Stawag Prize at 4.15pm and then the Mercedes Benz Nations Cup (two rounds) will cap the day off.
Here are the formations of the teams for the big event. The Belgian team will be led by coach Kurt Gravemeier who has selected Pieter Devos & Dream of India Greenfield, Olivier Philippaerts & Cabrio vd Heffinck, Jos Verlooy & Domino, Gregory Wathelet & Conrad de Hus.
Then it will be Robert Slaine and Ireland’s turn with Kenny Darragh & Imothep, Shane Breen & Golden Hawk, Denis Lynch & All Inclusive NRW, Cameron Hanley & Living the Dream.
Third team up will be France guided by Philippe Guerdat. The team will be Penelope Leprevost & Mylord Carthago HN, Simon Delestre & Qlassic Bois Margot, Jerome Hurel & Quartz Rouge, Kevin Staut & Estoy Aquì de Muze.
After that it will be Holland’s turn. Rob Ehrens has chosen Jeroen Dubbeldam & Zenith SFN, Maikel van der Vleuten & VDL Groep Verdi TN N.O.P, Frank Schuttert & Winchester HS, Gerco Schroder & Glock’s London N.O.P.
The first team to start are the very confident Germans, even without Hans Dieter Dreher who had to pull out after an infection to his horse Embassy II. Their team includes plenty of talent with Marcus Ehning & Plot Blue, Katrin Eckermann & Firth of Lorne, Daniel Deusser & Cornet d’Amour, Ludger Beerbaum & Chiara 222.
Canada will also take part. Coach Mark Laskin has chosen a strong team with Chris Sorensen & Bobby, Yann Candele & Showgirl, Tiffany Foster & Verdi III, Eric Lamaze & Powerplay.
The second to last team will be the USA who could be surprise led by Robert Ridland. Ridland has chosen Lucy Davis & Barron, Reed Kessler & Cylana, Lauren Hough & Ohlala, Kent Farrington & Willow.
The last team to start are always at an advantage and Switzerland are a real threat. Andy Kistler has opted for a very experienced team and they could be favourites for the win with Pius Schwizer & Toulago, Romain Duguet & Quorida de Treho, Paul Estermann & Castlefield Eclipse, Steve Guerdat & Nasa.
Germany are the other favourites, competing on home soil, but watch out for the USA who have some riders at the top of their game and especially Switzerland.
