Countdown to Paris 2018 begins
In less than three months’ time, riders will be in action in the French capital for the World Cup.
The AccorHotels Arena in Paris will take centre stage for the big event hosting not only show-jumping but also dressage trials from 11-15 of April.
Leading the way going into the prestigious competition in the show-jumping is home rider Kevin Staut who was a medal winner at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Staut will be faced with a double edged sword however: home advantage but the pressure of performing in front of his expectant supporters.
Title rivals include the likes of Henrik von Eckermann, Daniel Deusser, Christian Ahlmann and Marcus Ehning. McLain Ward of the US cannot be taken lightly and is the current FEI World Cup title holder.
In the dressage meanwhile Isabell Werth is out to defend her crown but faces stiff competition from a host of athletes such as Patrik Kittel and Morgan Barbançon Mestre.
