CSIO4* Barcelona: Lamaze wins the Coca-Cola Trophy ahead of today’s Challenge Cup.

On Thursday Italy qualified for the final of the FEI Nations Cup while Holland came top of the qualifying phase. The grand final will be taking place on Saturday. Before that however, the nations that didn’t make it will be battling it out in the Consolation Final, the Challenge Cup, scheduled for 14.00 this afternoon.  The following nations will be competing: Venezuela, Qatar, Australia, France, Spain and the USA.

Let’s turn our attentions now to the individual category. Yesterday, the Canadian rider Eric Lamaze with 11 year-old Hannover Fine Lady 5 (Forsyth) rode to victory in the Coca-Cola Trophy. The competition was a timed trial over 1.45m and in second place we find Brazilian Pedro Veniss with Amemol O Sandor and in third Penelope Leprevost with Sultane des Ibis. As for today’s schedule in addition to the Challenge Cup, there is plenty of other events to keep fans entertained. The El Periòdico Trophy is set for 10.30 this morning while this evening the Longines Cup of the City Barcelona is scheduled from 1.55m over 2 rounds.
