CSIO5* Calgary: Battle of the Breeds

One of the most intriguing competitions of the Masters in Calgary is definitely the Telus Battle of the Breeds, now in its 25th edition. Over the years it has become one of the most well-liked tournaments at Spruce Meadows.
Every year 10 of the most versatile breeds go head-to-head in different competitions in teams of four. Every team has three trials: Barrel Racing and two Trail trials.
Two riders for each team compete in each trial to earn points and the riders must be good at both the western and american riding.
Last year the Shetland Pony team won. Below is the schedule for 2014 Telus Battle of the Breeds.
Friday 12 September – Barrel Race at 4.30pm
Friday 12 September – Trail Riding at 12pm

You can also vote for your favourite breed and the first 1500 voters will also receive a Telus gadget.
