The European stage of the intercontinental Longines Masters Series in Paris has come to an end and now promises to continue with even greater sensations with the Asian stage, in Hong-Kong next February.
New competitions were introduced in Paris, such as the Power Masters and the brand new Longines Masters Riders Cup, which saw the European team claiming the first round. The rematch is scheduled in April in New York.
The Longines Speed Challenge also confirmed to be one of the most expected and exciting event on the round.
Last but not least, at the end of an intense competition day, the Longines Grand Prix in Paris delighted the public with the amazing victory of Daniel Deusser.
The German rider with his super stallion Cornet d’Amour jumped back into the limelight with a victory in the CSI5* after two fanstastic clear rounds.
France’s Simon Delestre really went for it, but had to settle into the runner-up position. In the saddle of Hermes Ryan, the home hero made it a clear finish but the clocks stopped 0.13 seconds behind Deusser.
USA’s Lauren Hough placed third aboard the 13-year-old Ohlala.
It was not easy task to solve the questions asked by course designer Louis Konickx over the first-round track and 19 pairs failed, including Alberto Zorzi who had to retire atop of Fair Light van’THeike. Twelve pairs went clear and entered the jump-off, which saw 7 clear rounds, the best of which by Deusser.
The German is now in the run for the Super Grand Slam Indoor bonus of 2.25 million Euros set up for the rider that manages a triple conscutive Grand Prix victory starting in Paris, Hong Kong and New York in the same season.
