Dutch delight at FEI Nations Cup
Holland have claimed the 2017 Longines FEI Nations Cup after an almost faultless performance in the Catalan city of Barcelona.
The Dutch were in rude health amassing just one penalty to lift the prestigious trophy. The winning formation was as follows: Aniek Poels, Jur Vrieling, Harrie Smolders, Marc Houtzager, Rob Ehrens (Chef d’Equipe), Michel Hendrix. Trailing behind in second were the USA while the final podium slot went to the Belgians. Both the Americans and Belgium collected four penalties a piece.
The course designed by Santiago Varela put the international stars through their paces but Holland came through with flying colours to take the spoils.
Just missing out on the podium on the other hand were Switzerland followed by Sweden. France were seventh while Canada came eighth.
