Endurance J/YR Worlds: Italy promoted

The return from Babolna, a perfect location for the J/YR Championships where 26 nations fought for glory, was greeted with enthusiasm from both the endurance experts and from the President of the Federation himself, Andrea Paulgross, for Italy’s 6th place finish. The fine results obtained in Hungary is a an excellent building block for the future of the sport. All the riders and their horse managed to keep their average above 18km/h with highs of 19.10 for Serena Fossi and Luca Zappettini followed by the 18.92 of Alice Spinazzè.The only low point was the unfortunate elimination of Schadja at the hands of the Italian YR champion Vittoria Ciuchi. The Italian rider, with an average of over 20km/h, could have taken the Azzurri into the higher reaches of the table.Compliments also must go out to al the other Italian athletes, even to those who were eliminated, who certainly learned a lot from the experience. The individual victory went to the arab rider Hussain Ali Al Marouqui, as expected, followed by the Sheikh Abdullà bin Faisal al Qasi and the French rider Laetitia Goncalves.
