Equestrian World from abroad: the people win in their fight to prevent the sale of Haras France’s top performers

In the end, the will of the people has emerged triumphant.
On the 20th of March the French national studbook Haras France had announced its intention to sell its performers of which Mylord Carthago, Padock du Plessis and Flipper d’Elle.
This led to a fierce reaction from equestrian followers in France who manifested their disapproval at selling off some of its best resources and weakening the competitive standard in France. Through petitions and protests they have been successful and the Equestrian World is now official: Haras France will no longer sell off its prized assets.
The outcome is thanks above all to Philippe Martin, President of Fanesco, who found the winning formula to stop Haras France in selling its top champions. On the 18th of July an agreement was signed and the best mounts will stay where they are for the time being while the stallions will be handed to the national Agriculture Department. A general assembly on the 23rd of September will decide the terms and further details.
