FEI allocation of five major 2018 events for young riders

The International Federation for Equestrian Sports has announced on their official website the allocation of the 2018 international key events for the different Olympic disciplines of Jumping, Dressage and Eventing.
This has come just a week after the annual FEI Sports Forum attended by 250 sports experts and equestrian stakeholders from over 50 nations in the Olympic capital of Lausanne, Switzerland.
According to the FEI Bureau, maximising opportunities for our young athletes to compete internationally is key to the growth of equestrian sport. The events announced for 2018 are actually addressed to athletes aged between 12 to 21 years from around the world who will measure themselves against their discipline colleagues.
The first of the five events allocated in in the US, with the FEI Eventing North American Championship for Young Riders, Juniors & Children taking place in Kalispell from July 18th to 22nd.
Two weeks later, always on the American soil, the FEI Jumping North American Youth Championships and FEI Dressage North American Championship for Young Riders, Juniors & Children are scheduled in North Salem from August 1st to 5th.
In September, the European fixture will host the FEI Jumping Youth Nations Cup Final in Opglabbeek, Belgium, from 6th to 9th.
Last but not least, the FEI Reining European Championship for Young Riders & Juniors will take place in Lyon, France from October 31st to November 1st.
The FEI is fully capitalising on youth-based events ahead of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Youth is a principal pillar of Olympic Agenda 2020 and for the Federation has always been a major focus in order to develop and demonstrate the values of equestrian sport.
