
FEI Sires of the World dominated by Belgium. Double victory for Italy’s Zuvadelli in the consolation trials.

There was a double reason for Italy to celebrate today at the FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses after Italian rider Paolo Adamo Zuvadelli took victory in both of the 7 year-old horse consolation trials on Eh Bombay (Balou du Rouet) and Holstenier Eh Quick Nina (Quidams Rubin) at Lanaken. There was also a very respectable sixth place finish for Dario Scalzo with Selena (Burggraaf).

The fields of Lanaken also crowned the first ever Sire of the World which went to the 9 year-old BWP Fantomas de Muze (Sandro Boy), ridden by Karline de Brabander. The stallion beat the rest of the competition in the jump-off after a clear in a time of 48.56 ahead of another BWP, Forever D Arco Ter Linden (Darco) in second who is also 9 years of age and was led by Nicola Philippaerts. The final podium finish went to a Swedish stallion, 8 year-old bay Giljandro van den Bosrand (born from Orlando). The rider for this stallion was Sweden’s Erika Lickhammer.
