The fox hunting and ‘draghunting’ season is coming to a close. The female half of the animals found in the woods are due to deliver a new litter and they can no longer be disturbed by the barking dogs, so the Milanese Society for Hunting on Horseback are bringing their meetings to an end. One of the last of these is the one in Breme, in Lomellina, and is possibly one of the most important meetings of the spring season, with its exceptional sandy shores along the river Po that allows the horse to gallop for long periods among the new cultivations that bring a beautiful green colour to the fields even though it is strictly forbidden to enter the majority these grounds during this period. The Breme meet has the same charm as that of Scaldasole in the autumn, the same rich and warm hospitality from the locals, even if the colours are different due to the changing seasons. This time the real protagonist is the river, the great Po!
