After a week of great ride, the 2018 Gallops of Morocco came to a close last Sunday – a passionate challenging race in a beautiful natural setting at the Sahara’s gates.
The winner in Erfoud was the group Ch’tis led by French Grègoire Verhaege, who had already taken part in the Gallops of Oman.
Second place was woman’s team Quazane, followed by Polo Club Chantilly and Blue Ghallah, sharing third spot.
This equestrian adventure started from the arid landscapes of Merzouga and continued over 200 kms loop though the high sand dunes of the Moroccon region Draa-Tafilalet which enhanced the quality of the Arabian-Berber horses, featuring in large numbers.
It also included beautiful and unexpected moments of sharing with the five French children of the Polo Discovery Association who joined the event and a group of Moroccon students of a school based in a village close to the Merzouga region.
