Germany’s squad for 2018 unveiled: three jumpers for Marcus Ehning

The German Equestrian Federation has announced its show jumping squad for 2018. It immediately comes out from the list the name of Marcus Ehning. The national team’s veteran has been matched with three jumpers: Comme Il Faut (Cornet Obolensky), Funky Fred (For Pleasure) and Pret A Tout (Hiram Chamertin).The selection criteria used in the last years has been confirmed also for the German team, with experienced and world’s famous riders put side by side with young talents.Along with Marcus Ehning, the promising youngers are Simone Blum with DSP Alice (Askari), second place in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Berlin, and the 23-year-old Laura Klaphake with Catch Me If You Can (Catoki), 17th place individual in the European Championships in Gothemburg. Last but not least, also Philipp Weishaupt with LB Conwall (Colman) and Maurice Tebbel with Chacco’s Son (Chacco Blue) have been called up to complete the squad.In the B-squad, with the perspective to step up to the first team, we find Markus Beerbaum on Charmed, Hans-Dieter Dreher with Berlinda, Felix Hassmann with Cayenne WZ, Andreas Kreuzer with Calvilot, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann with Goja, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum on Daisy, Mario Stevens atop of Baloubet, Patrick Stuhlmeyer on Chacgrano, Andre Thieme with Conthendrix and Holger Wulschner on BSC Cha Cha Cha.The German Federation has also called up the members for the C-squad, that is the U-21 team, the U-18 Allievi team, the U-16 Pony team and the Children’s.YOUNG RIDERS: Henry Delfs with Consuela D, Jesse Luther with Castro W, Justine Tebbel with Light Star, Lara Weber with Christian Dor, Cedric Wolf with Cho Chang J and Hilton de Laubry.JUNIOR: Pia Alfert with Song Girl and Mr X, Johanna Beckmann with Crazy-Hardbreaker SP WE and Karim van Orchid’s, Milja Esser with Antine, Lea Sophia Gut with Salvador IV, Hanna Schumacher with High Dream N, Julie Thielen with Bad Man and Tonlyn’s Bobby Girl.CHILDREN: Charlotte Hoeing with Bajala and Fixit, Chiara Reyer with Cederic.Other pairs will be selected for the youth teams.source: Deutsche Reiterlische Vereinigungphoto: Philipp Weishaupt GER LB Convall copyright Rolex Ashley Neuhof
