
Holsteiner announce that Cassini I has passed away

Very bad Equestrian World coming out of Germany from the official Holsteiner site that one of its most prestigious stallions Cassini I has been found dead in its stall. Cassini I, the 26-year-old son of Capitol and grand-child Caletto II, broke into the big time with Bo Kristoffersen but made his name with Franke Sloothak, recording a Nations Cup win in Aachen in 1998 and another Nations Cup in Modena the following year where it finished second in Aachen and fourth in the CSIO GP at Hickstead. There was also a fourth place in the World Cup in London in 1997.Holsteiner revealed that the stallion had spent the previous day grazing at Borgsum and had not shown any obvious signs of distress.source: holsteinerverband.de
