Holsteiner Auction: son of Casall – Contender on the way to Italy. | Video

The renowned Holsteiner foal auction took place yesterday in Behrendorf, Germany. Let’s take a look below at the goings-on from the event:
47 young horses were on offer of which 42 were sold. The record offer at the auction was for an offspring of Colman (v.m. Cassini I) for a total of 19.000 euros and that will stay in Germany. There was another big fee paid for the offspring to Cassini I (v.m. Limbus) and 17.000 euros were shelled out for the foal which seems to be on its way to Estonia.
There were also some big offers from South America and to be more precise Ecuador which is where no. 6 in the catalogue, the offspring of Casall (v.m. Cassini I), is heading after 15.500 euros were paid. That fee is almost the same as the one offered for his half-brother and no. 7 in the catalogue, Casall (v.m. Clarimo), who is on the way to Sweden for 15.000 euros. Italy didn’t stand idly by and also got involved ensuring the services of the offspring to Casall (v.m. Contender) for 11.000,00 euros although the buyer has not been named.
Casall’s offspring were highly sought after and all 7 of its offspring sold, each one for at least 7.000 euros. The biggest success though lies with Cassini I and for just two of this stallion’s offspring a whopping 28.500 euros was made. There were also good sales figures for the 5 offspring of Colman who raised an average of 8,500 euros each while Clarimo’s average was over 7.000 euros.
