Horse run down by articulated lorry

tir 1

Yesterday was an unfortunate day for animals in northern Italy.A horse that escaped from a farm in Villabartolomea, in the province of Verona, fled onto a nearby road where it was run over by an articulated lorry.  12 hours later a bull tried to escape while it was being loaded onto a truck that would have taken the animal to a slaughterhouse. In both cases the two animals were a danger to the public. If the horse had been hit by a car or a motorbike, the consequences would have been graver. Meanwhile, another articulated vehicle met head another animal head on in another area of the same province. The animal was literally crushed to a pulp while the driver managed to keep his vehicle under control in spite of the impact. The accident happened at 5.30 a.m. when traffic was still light.
