Horses in the epicentre

Finally a story with a happy ending, ‘the police officer and his horse’, after the horror experienced in Abruzzo.
In Onna, a town located in the province of L’Aquila, Abruzzo, it the priority was to get people to safety, and there was no time to safe three horses that were tied to a tree since Sunday. With no water or food things looked grave for the steeds, but two days after the earthquake, Tuesday afternoon to be precise, a police officer covered in dust from hours of digging through the rubble looking for survivors, takes a minute to rest his weary limbs from the scouring of the debris. On his way to rehydrate his notices the three horses, and decides to offer them a drink, a gesture which cost the officer nothing, but meant the world to the steeds.
