De Luca 4 1

The weekend’s events came to a close yesterday with an excellent result for Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca at the CSIO5* Dublin in Ireland.
The Italian rider narrowly missed out on a podium finish and with his mount Geisha van Orshof, owned by the Stephex Stables, claimed fourth place in the Dublin Longines International Grand Prix.
With the grey mare, and daughter to Cabrio van de Heffinck, De Luca scored a double clear in the Irish capital and although he pushed Conor Swail (Grand Cru V. Vijf Eiken) all the way for the final step of the podium, the Italian was just 2 tenths slower than his Irish rival and had to settle for fourth.
USA’s Kent Farrington took first place meanwhile with 14 year-old KWPN Uceko (Celano) setting the fastest time at 43.14 seconds. Ireland’s Kevin Babington finished in second place to make it a double podium celebration for the Irish after the aforementioned Conor Swail took third on home soil. The rest of the top-ten was as follows:
4th LORENZO DE LUCA ITA GEISHA VAN ORSHOF
5th Marlon Modolo Zanotelli BRA Rock n’Roll Semilly
6th Lucy Davis USA Barron
7th Bertram Allen IRL Romanov
8th Sergio Alvarez Moya ESP Carlo 273
9th Hans Dieter-Dreher GER Embassy II
10th Shane Breen IRL Golden Hawk
