Vejer de la Frontera, October 25th, 2025 – It was a great day of sport yesterday at the V Andalucía October Tour, where the much-anticipated CSIO3* Nations Cup, sponsored by KAR Sport Horses, took centre stage. Seventeen national teams competed in a thrilling event that came down to the wire, but in the end, it was Ireland who claimed victory with an outstanding performance.

After leading the first round with just two time faults, the Irish riders maintained their composure in the second, finishing on a total of 6 faults — without even needing their final rider to jump. The winning team was composed of Susan Fitzpatrick (Lovely Stassi PS), Niamh McEvoy (Olympic ‘gl’ ‘fvd’), Max Wachman (Tipperary), and Ethen Ahearne (LVS Goldrush H).

Brazil took a well-deserved second place after an impressive comeback: moving up from fifth after the first round, the team produced three clear rounds in the second phase to close on just 8 faults. Their line-up featured Eduardo Pereira de Menezes (H5 Londontime), Pedro Junqueira Muylaert (Gemme Villers), Felipe Amaral (Qerbi Vant Ruytershof), and Pedro Veniss (Duelante 3K).

Germany completed the podium after dropping from provisional second to third place. The team finished on 13 faults — the same total as Spain and France — but secured the bronze with the fastest combined time. The German team was represented by Jana Wargers (Eddie G Z), Jens Baackmann (Lorenz 86), Stephanie Böhe (DSP Lyjin P), and Maximilian Lill (Casallco’s George PS).

Just off the podium were Spain and France, both closing on 13 penalties but slightly slower overall.

The day also included the presentation of the Marta Santos Casamichana Award, offered by KAR Sport Horses in memory of the talented young rider who tragically passed away earlier this year. The recipients were Francisca Gomes and Luis Secio.

Individual highlights included victories for Carlos Bosch Cebrián in the 1.40m CSIO3*, and Francis Derwin (Ireland) in the Longines Ranking 1.45m class with Parvati AEG, further confirming Ireland’s dominant form in Vejer.

Competition continues today with two FEI Longines Ranking classes, including the CSI2* Grand Prix, sponsored by the Andalusian Regional Government’s Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Affairs and the Provincial Council of Cádiz.

Despite the excitement and the high level of sport on display, Italy unfortunately did not stand out on this occasion, remaining outside the top rankings in a Nations Cup dominated by the Irish team.
