Italian National American-style Riding Finals 2009

At the Modena’s Manfredini di Magreta equestrian centre the National finals of the FISE Performance 2009 were held last weekend. In the Walk and Trot category for the youngest riders, Benedetta Pellicani on Rookie won while for the Novice Youths Kevin Basciano, on Pepper Slide Snapper, saw off stiff competition from Martina Menozzi and Linda Martinelli from Emilia Romagna and Sara Zocca from Trentino to clinch the All Around title. Victory also for Alessandra Ischia on Smartin Jo Freckles in her category. In the over-18’s, Fabiola Bettarello, already Emilia regional champion, claimed the national title, while the Amateur award went to Claudia Eschgfaller from Trentino, the region that also snatched the Region Cup despite an incredible comeback from Emilia. However, Emilia ended on a sweet note with a win for Christian Pellicani, who took the third trophy home after his daughter, Benedetta won the Walk and Trot, and wife Fabiola Bettarello, over-18 champion.
