The atmosphere is electric in Vejer de la Frontera, where the Andalucía Sunshine Tour is hosting this week’s Nations Cup, one of the most prestigious team competitions in the international show jumping calendar. A total of 17 nations are set to compete, bringing together some of the sport’s top riders and most promising young talents.

Representing Italy is a motivated and talented team, guided by Chef d’Équipe Mario Verheyden, and composed of:

  • Michol Del Signore & Milriston PS
  • Antonia Vita Pinardi & MTM Los Angeles
  • Lorenzo Argentano & Corna Boy
  • Riccardo Pisani & Chacco’s Lawito PS

For Antonia Vita Pinardi, this week marks a particularly special milestone — her first-ever Nations Cup appearancewearing the Italian jacket. Speaking from the Sunshine Tour grounds, she shared her excitement and pride ahead of the competition.

“It’s definitely a great emotion,” Antonia said with a smile. “At the same time, I’m very proud to be part of this beautiful team and to represent my country for the first time. It’s something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time.”

The young rider has been in Vejer for over a week, taking full advantage of the excellent facilities to prepare her horses and adapt to the environment.

“I came here last week to make sure my horses were in the best possible shape,” she explained. “The facilities here are just amazing — everything is so well-organized, and the arenas are fantastic. It’s a real pleasure to jump in such conditions, both for us riders and for the horses. I can’t wait for tomorrow to finally get out there and give my best.”

When asked about her goals and expectations for this first Nations Cup experience, Antonia emphasized focus and teamwork.

“My main goal is to stay concentrated and ride the way I know I can,” she said. “MTM Los Angeles is a very special horse — he has all the potential to jump beautifully, and I completely trust him. If I manage to do everything as planned, I know he’ll help me deliver a great round.”

Her calm yet confident approach reflects the collective spirit of the Italian team, which combines emerging young talent with solid experience.

“We’ve got a great team atmosphere,” Antonia added. “Everyone is really supportive, and that gives me even more motivation. I just want to enjoy the moment, do my best for the team, and make Italy proud.”

With strong preparation, a positive mindset, and a promising lineup, the Italian squad is ready to take on the challenge in Vejer de la Frontera. As the riders step into the arena under the Andalusian sun, all eyes will be on them especially on debutants like Antonia Vita Pinardi, who embody the passion and determination of Italy’s next generation in show jumping.
