Italy seeking strong result at the Irish leg of Nations Cup.

The main show-jumping event this week is taking place in Dublin where riders will be battling it out in the eighth (and final) qualification leg of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup European Division 1.
Hosts Ireland will be the first nation to go around the course followed by Switzerland, Holland, USA, Italy, Spain, Great Britain and Germany.
The home nation have several young riders in the team, and in addition to rising star Bertram Allen (with Romanov), Ireland have selected Greg Patrick Broderick (with Mhs Going Global) and Kenny Darragh (Sans Soucis Z) alongside the experience of Cian O’Connor (Good Luck).
It begins at 15.00 in the Irish capital and Italy have selected the following riders: Emanuele Gaudiano (Admara 2), Juan Carlos Garcia (Gitano v. Berkenbroek), Lorenzo De Luca (Geisha van Orshof) and Piergiorgio Bucci (Casallo Z).
The pressure is on the Italians who are far from assured of a place at the grand finale in Barcelona and will need to go all out in a bid to obtain as many points as possible and book their plane ticket to the Spanish city.
Italy will be hoping that Emanuele Gaudiano’s victory yesterday in the Serpentine Speed Stakes over 1.50m/1.60m with Cocoshynsky is a positive sign ahead of the Nations Cup fixture. The Italian rider rode to victory in front of two Irishmen: Bertram Allen with Quite Easy 4 in second and Cian O’Connor with Coco II in third.
