It’s a Family Affair in $30,000 World Equestrian Center Grand Prix

At the first week of the Midwest Indoors series at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington, it was a family affair in the $30,000 World Equestrian Center Grand Prix. David Beisel of Goshen, Ohio, took the win riding his own Essince W, a 12-year-old KWPN gelding by Chacco-Blue x Burggraaf NV. Second place went to Beisel’s daughter, Izzy Beisel, riding Ammeretto, a 16-year-old KWPN stallion by Numero Uno x Goodtimes owned by David Beisel.
David Beisel and Essince W went first in the jump-off and ended up as the only double clear in the class, stopping the timers in 36.613 seconds for the win. Izzy Beisel and Ammeretto followed, and while she bested her father’s jump-off time in 35.284 seconds, four jumping faults put her into second place.
The father-daughter duo were two of three in the jump-off, with Lani Hutchison riding Diane P. Masters’s Light Show to third place with eight faults in 34.651 seconds.
