Julien Epaillard wins the Grand Prix of the CSI 4* in Saint-Lô for the second time in a row

Winner of the first edition of the CSI 4* in 2020 with Queeleta, Julien Epaillard (FRA) offers himself the double by winning this afternoon the Grand Prix du Département de la Manche with Billabong du Roumois.
Six couples qualified for the jump-off: Jean-Luc Mourier (FRA)/Kielekoo Van T et L, Harry Allen (IRL)/Guinness, Pedro Junqueira Muylaert (BRA)/Pembroke 3, Wilm Vermeir (BEL)/Joyride S, Valentin Besnard (FRA)/Beau Goss du Park and finally Julien Epaillard and Billabong du Roumois. Second to start, Harry Allen rode a fast Guinness (37.42 seconds) which allowed him to keep this position in the final ranking. Wilm Vermeir, who won the ranking class on Friday, finished third in the Grand Prix with a time of 38.76 seconds. Julien and Billabong finally won the final event in 36.25 seconds.
At lunchtime, six couples qualified for the  CSI 2* jump-off of the Grand Prix Région Normandie. Three of them came out clear and Thomas Rousseau (FRA) won the class. With Udson de Jauzif, he completed a perfect round in 33.80 seconds. Geoffroy de Coligny (FRA) and Raimondo du Plessis, winners of the Grand Prix last year, came close to the double ! With 12 hundredths more on the clock, they finished second. Severin Sigaud (FRA) and the young Donatello d’Auge finished third in 35.40 seconds.
The day started with the Trokeur prize at 1m45 of the CSI 4*, a two-phase class, and a 100% Belgian podium. Koen Vereecke with Lector Vd Bisschop took the lead while Charlotte Philippe and Godiva S were second. Thibeau Spits took third place riding Juragold Bormes.
