The French riders started this second weekend of competition at the Jumping International de Valence on a strong note. Out of the 6 classes of the day, five made the French Hymn heard by the delighted crowd at the Haras des Grillons. All classes from the CSI2* and U25 were won by tricolours couples. The Prix Smartphone Recycle (1.20m) made Vincent Mourier victorious, while Olivier Perreau won the Prix Le Dauphiné – Haras des Grillons, Laurent Guillet was the best in the Prix GBG Assurances (1.40m), and the young Romain Dreyfus took the first place on the Prix Haras des Grillons (1.40m), dedicated to riders under 25. Only the first class of the CSI5* was won by a foreign rider: the Brazilian Pedro Junqueira Muylaert, victorious on the Prix Hubside (1.45m).The main class of the day, the Prix Mercedes-Benz at 1.50m, led to another victory for the rider of Montpellier, Harold Boisset, still riding his loyal T’obetty du Domaine. They were the fastest to finish the course in this against-the-clock class, with a time of 66.65 seconds. “My horse is amazing on this arena, I think she likes it here! She jumped really well once again. This week, my goal with her is the Grand Prix. I think it’s going to be harder but she’s such in a great shape these days that I believe we might have a real chance.“The Italian Giulia Martinengo Marquet, with Verdine SZ, took the second place with a time of 68.65 seconds. Jessica Springsteen, first to achieve a clear round on the class, got the third place with a time of 71.24 seconds. She was riding RMF Zecilie. The couple, Harold Boisset and T’obetty du Domaine, was definitively in its best shape since the beginning of the Jumping, as he was already victorious in the opening class of the CSI4* last week, as well as on the against-the-clock class on Sunday. The couple knows each other very well, Harold is riding her since 2011 when she was only four years old. He was the one who started the Selle Français mare in competition on the young horses circuit. Since then, they rose together all the steps that led them to CSI5* this year. One thing is sure, we will find this leading couple in the Grand Prix Hubside of the CSI5* this Sunday, with an awaiting crowd to support them!
