Langehanenberg and Damsey FRH steal the limelight in Neumunster

Helen Langehanenberg and her Damsey FRH clinched a superb victory at the seventh leg of the FEI World Cup Dressage Western European League on home soil in Neumunster, Germany.
At the previous round in Amsterdam three weeks ago, the 2013 FEI World Cup Dressage champion had to retire, when her 16-year-old stallion got his tongue over the bit and their performance fell apart.
This time, however, it was perfect harmony as their strong score of 38.800 left compatriots Dorothee Schneider and Sammy Davis Jr behind in runner-up spot. Denmark’s Daniel Bachmann-Andersen and Blue Hors Zack ended third.
It was the perfect result for Langehanenberg and Damsey FRH in their last outing before the arrival of the German rider’s new baby in June. She is looking to be back in the saddle again in July though in order to be ready for the Tryon 2018 WEG.
In the overall World Cup Dressage standings Dorothee Schneider moved closer to leader Patrik Kittel in second position (74 points for the Swedish and 72 for the German rider). Third is Jessica von Bredow-Werndl with 59 points followed by Swedish Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvèn and Danish Daniel Bachmann-Andersen, both tied with 54 points.
