Lazio are Regional Cup 2009 winners

The Regional Cup 2009 which took place in the hills around Pratoni del Vivaro concluded the season for the endurance teams.Fifteen regions took part over various distances ranging from 35km to 81km. Lazio came out top ahead of Tuscany and Lombardy, with top riders in Andrea Iacchelli, Chiara Rosi and Carletto Bertoni all playing their part.The 81km and final event was one by Elisa Capirossi from Romagnola on CG Ekus who covered the distance in an average time of 19km per hour ahead of Lazio rider Giorgio Fiaschi on Naatan Pool (best condition) and Emanuele Fondi on Felicidad.In the 58km, there was success for Lomabardy with Camilla Vertemati on Maestro who gained 14.99 points ahead of Barbara Fedeli on Mojra Fatha, with 12.64 and Tuscan Antonio Cera on Beauregard, who scored 12.60 points, while the “best condition” went to Keope riden by Gianfelice D’Agostino of Abruzzo, with 11.99 points.The 35km event was reserved for debutants and it was home rider Morgana Arreni on Elios Baio who won, scoring 12.11 points, ”best condition”, followed by Lisa Bonvecchio from Trento on Hera, 11.78 points, and another Lazio rider Abd-Errahman Khila on Ala Winddrinker, 11.42 points.
