LGCT 2018, Pieter Devos seals the Mexican party, second De Luca

The first event of the 2018 Longines Global Champions Tour came to close in a hot Mexico City on Sunday.After the opening success of Scott Brash, it was Belgium’s Pieter Devos who claimed the win in the final 1.55m Longines Ranking class with a turbo-charged display of horsepower, just gaining the advantage over Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca and third-placed Denis Lynch (IRL).
In a truly cosmopolitan field, three riders came through for Italy and ended in the top ten: De Luca was second atop of Limestone Grey, Alberto Zorzi ended in seventh position with Fair Light van T Heike (4 penalties) and Piergiorgio Bucci was tenth on Alicante (4 penalties).
