Lisa Gaudiano: Talent, Determination, and a Special Bond with her Horses.
At Fiera Cavalli Verona, during the 127×127 – 1.25 m Mixed Final, among the top ten qualified combinations of the previous days, Lisa Gaudiano and her horse Chalou Blue PS achieved an excellent second place in the main arena.
A remarkable result that highlights the growth of this young Italian rider, combining skill, determination, and deep passion.
A Weekend to Remember
Lisa spoke with satisfaction about her performances throughout the weekend:
“On the first day I placed, on the second day I finished fourth, and today I came second. I’m very happy with how my horse, Chalou Blue, jumped.”
A consistent progression that means even more considering her recent recovery from injury:
“Two and a half months ago I had surgery for a broken ankle. Being here today, after everything that happened, is such a beautiful feeling, and I’m really happy with the result.”

From a Cast to the Podium
After spending a month in a cast, Lisa wasted no time getting back in the saddle:
“The day I got my cast off, I was already galloping — even though I still had the brace on. I just couldn’t stay away from riding.”
Horses have always been a part of her life:
“I’ve been riding since before I could walk,”
she said with a smile.
Her comeback wasn’t easy at first, but confidence grew quickly:
“At my first show back I was a bit tense, but this is already my third competition after the injury, and I feel better every time. Honestly, it feels like everything is back to normal.”
The Magic of Chalou: A Family Legacy
One of the most emotional moments in Lisa’s journey came when she started riding Chalou, the legendary horse of her father, Emanuele Gaudiano, a rider renowned for his many international victories.
Lisa recalls how it all began:
“Two of my horses had just been sold, and I was getting bored. One day I said, ‘I’m bored, I want to ride.’ They told me, ‘Then ride Chalou,’ so I did.”
That ride turned into something special:
“The next day I jumped a bit higher, and we decided to go to a show. I did the 1.20 class, we went clear, and the next day I tried the 1.30 — it went great.”
Getting the chance to ride Chalou, the horse that defined her father’s career, was a unique and emotional experience — a symbolic handover between generations, full of meaning and pride.
Ambitions and Dreams
Despite her young age, Lisa already has her goals clearly set:
“My main goal right now is the 2026 Children’s European Championships. I would really love to compete there — it’s one of my biggest dreams.”
And her long-term vision is just as ambitious:
“My biggest dream? The Olympics — just like my dad.”
Training with Her Father: Normal Yet Inspiring
Being coached by her father, Emanuele Gaudiano, a world-class show jumper, is something Lisa takes naturally:
“For me it’s normal, because he’s been training me since I was little. I don’t see it as something special — it’s just part of my everyday life.”
Still, she fully values his guidance:
“He gives me so many valuable tips — everything he’s learned throughout his career, he shares with me.”
A Bright Future Ahead
With her determination, natural talent, and a string of quality horses like Chalou Blue PS, Lisa Gaudiano is one of the most promising young riders in Italian show jumping.
“It’s such a beautiful feeling, and I’m really happy with how it went,”
she said, smiling after her podium finish.
A smile that sums up the spirit of a rider ready to write her own story — following in her father’s footsteps, but with a style and ambition entirely her own.
