LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL 2026: more top names announced for a stellar edition

From 8 to 11 January 2026, Basel is set to host the 15th edition of the LONGINES CHI CLASSICS BASEL, one of the most prestigious indoor events on the international equestrian calendar. The competition promises to be of the highest level, bringing together the very best of show jumping and dressage, alongside world-class entertainment for spectators.

Show jumping: the world’s elite in Basel

Among the confirmed stars is Ben Maher, individual Olympic champion at Tokyo 2021 and current world number 4. The British rider will face top-class rivals, including the 2025 World Cup Final winner Julien Epaillard (France, world no. 9), the Belgian Gilles Thomas, winner of the overall Jumping World Cup standings and current LONGINES Rankings leader (no. 5), as well as the reigning European Champion Richard Vogel (Germany, no. 6).

Great expectations also surround the Swiss riders, who will have the opportunity to shine in front of their home crowd, with a national team that continues to grow stronger on the international stage.

Dressage: the “Queen” Isabell Werth in Basel

The dressage line-up is equally impressive. Basel will welcome Isabell Werth, a true legend of the sport: seven-time Olympic champion, multiple World and European Champion, and winner of more than 30 gold medals at major international championships. An extraordinary record that has earned her the widely acknowledged title of “Queen of Dressage.”

She will be joined by her compatriot Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, who, following the retirement of the exceptional TSF Dalera BB, now competes with Diallo BB, marking the beginning of a new chapter at the highest level.
