Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of France: Eight teams on the start list

For the past 59 years, the international jumping stars have traditionally chosen La Baule to open their outdoor season. The kick-off of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ will be given in La Baule as well. First confrontation of the European Divison 1, the Nations Cup of La Baule is part of the 11 qualifiers before the world final in Barcelona (3rd to 6th October).
The teams
Eight nations will be on the start list of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of France held this year on Friday 17th May at 2.00pm: BELGIUM, BRAZIL, CANADA, FRANCE, GERMANY, GREAT BRITAIN, IRELAND and SWITZERLAND.
A global tournament
Contended for by 50 countries last year, the Nations Cup circuit is composed of 11 qualifying legs certified CSIO 5* before the final, located according to 3 geographic zones: Division 1 of Europe/Northern America, Central America, Caribbean/Middle East.
In the Division 1 of Europe, 10 nations among the best in the world are competing in 2019: Germany, Austria, Belgium (winner of the circuit in 2018), France (2nd of the circuit in 2018), Great Britain, Ireland (3rd of the circuit in 2018), Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland.
Each of the national teams will have to select 4 qualifiers and try to store the precious points in order to reach the world final.

The qualifiers of the French
Thierry Pomel, national coach, will bring a strong team on home ground in order to collect the first points. In this search, the French will then take part into the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Switzerland (St Gallen, 30th May – 2nd June), of Poland (Sopot, 13th – 16th June), of Sweden (Falsterbo, 11th – 14th July).
