Master d’Italia Memorial Dalla Chiesa underway

2 NICO LUPINO Dear Boy

Nico Lupino wins the 135, while in the 140 it was 23-year-old Elia Matteo Simonetti who led the rest. The 26th edition of the Master d’Italia Memorial Dalla Chiesa is taking place at Gese di San Lazzaro di Savena, with the Grand Prix QN set for Sunday and will crown the master for 2017. There will be plenty of motivation as the winners in previous years have their photographs lining the walls in the Hall of Fame.Meanwhile, today Elia Matteo Simonetti has kept the colors of the millennials flying high by winning the highlight of the day, the 140 (Comet award), riding Caesario 6 (0; 52.21). The young Modenese rider was very fast, closing in a time that proved impregnable even for the winners of the 140 yesterday, Natale Chiaudani and Kommodo, who today had to settle for fourth place.Second was Matteo Checchi and Davidoff de Lassus (0;53,24), while third went to Gianluca Caracciolo and Davados (0;53,86).Before the 140 there was the Cavallo Magazine award, a timed135 category, won by another young rider. Twenty-nine years old, to be precise, Nico Lupino riding Dear Boy (0; 54.47) has left behind the major caporal Filippo Martini di Cigala, second on Tamarilla (0; 55.25), and Alessandra Fuzzi, third with Grazia Z (0; 56,17).
Following that was the first trial of the Italian Indoor Circuit – Small Tour, named after Ettore Maurizzi, the patron of the Pegus who died on October 1, 2011. For the horse world it is always a great pleasure to remember Ettore and see his son Omer reward the winners of the category named after his father. First was Luna Ludovica Moggi and Devlin K, who in addition to the prize money has won five quintals of feed offered by Isola Verde – Pegus, to the delight of Devlin and its stable companions. Second was Cecilia di Fulvio with Calisco and bronze for the home rider Arianna Zanini Mariani on Pia du Perron.
The Small Tour, the 125 scheduled time tomorrow afternoon, is named after a ‘man of horses’, or Marino Baldazzi, who was president of Ante Emilia Romagna for two terms in the nineties. In the twenty years since his death, his son Ettore and his granddaughter Elisa, who will compete in the GP on Sunday, with thier dedication want to remember and thank him for passing on to them their passion for horses.
Also tomorrow the  Circuito Crescita Fise Grade I will crown this important event for young horses and riders while the big Grand Prix Memorial Dalla Chiesa il Piccolo (Simotop Group) takes place in mid-afternoon.
