Oliva Nova was the scene for young horses on Wednesday, as the 3rd week of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour started with categories reserved for 5-, 6- and 7-year-old horses
67 duos took part in the final of the 7-year-old category, with Dutch rider Mathijs van Asten taking the top spot on KWPN Grietje vd Heezerenbosh (Arezzo VDL). Despite only joining up a few days before the event, the pair worked in fantastic synergy.
Second place was also claimed by a rider from the Netherlands: Mareille van Geel-Schroder, riding KWPN Gerdinieke (Bacardi VDL), who was 0.49 seconds off the winners pace.
Swede Jonna Ekberg on promising gelding Selle Française Bakogan de St.Jean (Kannan) took hird place.
