The FISE National Performance Final 2009 was held at the Manfredini Magreta Equestrian Club in Modena over the weekend.The event would decide who was the “all round“ Italian champion in all disciplines.In the youngest category (Walk and Trot) the promising young emiliana, Benedetta Pelicans, riding Rookie, won in all disciplines, while in the Novice Youth there was a formidable head to head to the last race between Martina Menozzi and Linda Martinelli for Emilia Romagna, and between Sara Zocca and Kevin Basciano for Trentino. The latter won on Pepper Slide Snapper to claim the overall title.There was also victory for the young and eclectic Alessandra Ischia, riding Smartin Jo Freckles, beating all competitors in her class. Among the over 18 riders, Fabiola Bettarello was already all-round champion in the regional championship at Emilio, and added the national championship, while the Amateur title went Claudia Eschgfäller from Trento. Trentino also lifted the Regional Cup despite an incredible comeback by the team from Emilia, which was built on Christian Pellicani’s success who brought home the third cup for the Modena family. Christian is the father of Benedetta who won the Walk and Trot and the husband of Fabiola Bettarello, the over-18 champion.
