Nations Cup, Italy on the attack in Samorin
The International Equestrian Federation has informed the nations participating in the European first division which events will be worth points for the general rankings of the Longines FEI Nations Cup 2018.
In adherence to the rules, the Azzurri riders will compete in five of the eight available events. The first event chosen by the show jumping team to seek points at is Samorin, in Slovakia, scheduled from the 26th till the 29th of April.
The team will then move on to Sopo, Poland, for the competition from the 14th till the 17th of June, followed by Flasterbo, Sweden, from the 12th till the 15th of July, Hickstead in the UK from the 26th till the 29th of August and then Dublin from the 8th till the 15th of August. The goal is to accumulate enough points to qualify for the finals in Barcelona from the 4th till the 7th of October.
Following an unforgeable 2017 for the Italian team the intention to come out of the blocks strong in this season’s Nations Cup. The historic triumphs in Rome and St. Gallen last year, as well as the second place in the general rankings, have upped expectations and the team intends to continue their success in the build-up to the World Equestrian Games 2018.
