New face Holmèn stuns in World Cup Zurich
Swedish new face Stephanie Holmén impressed in the Mercedes-Benz CSI5*-W in Zurich, Switzerland. Partnering the 12-year-old Flip’s Little Sparrow, daughter of Cardento from the Swedish studbook, the 27-year-old newcomer out-rode many of the best in the world to clinch a sensational win in her second-ever World Cup start.
High competition came from Swiss riders, who wore armbands in memory of their respected colleague Willi Melliger, who passed away recently.
Second place was actually Pius Schwizer, who posted a time of 39.90 seconds with About a Dream, one second ahead of Frenchman Kevin Staut, in third position, on the 12-year-old stallion Silver Deux de VirtonHDC (Kashmir van Schutershof).
